Posted 07/13/09 - 08:51 PM: Subject: Stopping the Spam #1 Garbage in the Fax every morning Are you getting a whole bunch of faxes on your machine every morning for trips to Cancun, life insurance, and medical insurance,that is obviously a fraud. All you really need to do is fax them back their own advertising to the 800 number that they want you to call them on. All they'll get is a fax tone, and they hang up immediately. If you set your fax machine to 20 tries, you will soon start to hear the sounds of exasperation on the fax speaker. Go back to your machine about an hour later, and repeat the same thing, do this is many times as you can. They will find your fax number on their 800 number bill and will soon remove it. Don't forget, most of these people have to pay for each phone call that they receive, and they are paying for each time you call and they also pay these people who answer the phone by the hour. This is about the only way you will be taken off their list as the governments remove list doesn't seem to be working and there isn't any other recourse.
